10:38PM - Bristol Pine Forest

Bristol Pine Forest, originally uploaded by Tristan C.

Going through archives, this is from a road trip that Tf and I did years ago.

Gearing up for another one around Christmas time, in keeping with our dumb tradition of going to interesting places when it's extremely cold. I'm looking forward to it. I think we may stop in Joshua Tree and go to Sedona as well.

Thank you to whittles for the entry to the Sf MOMA's Halloween party. The Living Dead Girls gave an amazing performance, and we had a really great time wandering the exhibits.

9:37AM - Pi Attitude

Pi Attitude, originally uploaded by Tristan C.

We've decided that PiCat's birthday is Halloween, so she'll be a year old tomorrow.

Our scrawny underfed kitten with fun health problems (ringworm! Diarrhea!) has grown into a biting, purring beastie with a destructive swishing tail with an uncanny gravitational pull towards cups of tea, she keeps up a constant whining/chatter when she isn't getting what she wants (which is always), and she's a huge klutz.

In short, she's the perfect cat for us and we love her. From her little chirp in the morning as she realizes I'm awake, to her whining at night when I'm tired and put away the cat toy wand as she still wants to play. Don't ever change, and don't ever stop face-planting into walls.

She was so sweet the first day we were home, but now she's back to trying to eat our toes.

7:31PM - Walls

Walls, originally uploaded by Tristan C.

Heading back to San Francisco tomorrow evening after ten days on the east coast - Savannah to Virginia and DC. Mostly doing family-type obligations, but we managed to get in some cheesy tourist time in Savannah and an enforced relaxation thanks to Amtrak track re-routing which turned an 8 hour ride into 10.5

3:52PM - fracked!

fracked!, originally uploaded by Tristan C.

This is your weekly reminder, BACK UP YOUR DATA!

The only good thing to come out of this HD failure is that I didn't lose anything truly important (except perhaps a few videos of the kitten). My system is simple, because I am not a techno wizard - Two external hard drives, one my primary that I work from, one the secondary which I back up the other onto regularly, like, Daily, depending on how much new work I've done.

Also? If your stuff dies, and it's not warranted from the Apple store, check the manufacturer of whatever died on you. Our HD is covered by the maker, not by the company who charged us too much for it in the first place.

6:24PM - Parking Day

Parking Day, originally uploaded by Tristan C.

It's a day when there is even less parking available in San Francisco.
But more places to hang out. What a trade-off.

8:08PM - Taggers are Assholes

Taggers are Assholes, originally uploaded by Tristan C.

Seriously. This is just sad. Clarion alley is covered with amazing murals. And there's been a rash of jerkoff taggers which have straight up desecrated all this artwork. I'm all for street art, and don't even really have a problem with tags in general, but this is just plain rude. Right up there with window etching.

I couldn't even document all of it, some of my favorite murals were pretty much ruined by this stupidity.

2:22PM - Ziggy and his prey..

Ziggy and his prey.., originally uploaded by Tristan C.

Pretty busy weekend, on Friday I went and saw 'Thirst', a korean vampire film which I really enjoyed. Great styling and a fun take on the concept.

Saturday we slept in, then hit the Alamo Square flea market where I picked up a couple of vintage photo albums to stick pictures into.

Sunday was a BBQ at the new apartment shared by three friends, then over to another house to watch the 'Mad Men' premier because we don't have cable (or a TV, actually.)

And somewhere in there I took photos of a really cute black and white cat..
